Elder Scrolls Online reveals High Isle DLC with incredible cinematic trailer
Since its launch in 2014, Scrolls online has continuously received new expansions, updates and DLC chapters. Those chapters have transported players across the continent of Tamriel, taking them to exotic locations like Elswyr and Tomorrow. Now, a new chapter called High Isle is in the works, which will focus on an archipelago inspired by the Mediterranean and the Breton Islands that inhabit it. Of course, it won’t be a Elder Scrolls Online revealed without a cinematic trailer to accompany it.
The main intro is typical ESO fare, this time focusing on the political intrigues and assassinations that define the High Isle. It shows a hooded Breton navigating Gonfalon Bay, which the development team describes as “the central point of political dealings on the High Isle.” Breton is apparently a member of The Ascendant Order, with aspirations of “chaos” in the region.
The story of High Isle will follow a promise new chapter in Elder Scrolls Online, when delegates from each of the three main factions traveled to the Systres Islands, home to the High Isles, to negotiate a peace that could end the Three Banners War. The peace talks are organized by the Society of the Steadfast, with The Ascendant Order appearing to act as the main antagonist of the expansion, at least according to what has been announced.
The Mediterranean setting is slightly different from the content players have seen before, with previous expansions focusing on the snowy regions of Skyrim, Elsweyr .’s desert sandsand the alien landscape of Morrowind. Elder Scrolls nor has it ever strayed from political intrigue, but it’s the focus for an expansion pack.
Last year, Scrolls online more companions, with two new chapters coming along with the High Isle chapter. The first is Ember, a Khajit who grew up on the streets and “has a knack for magic,” and Isabel, a Breton with Knight aspirations. In addition to two new companions, Elder Scrolls Online is adding a new card game called Tales of Tribute, which has its own storyline. The card game will feature both PvE and PvP modes, and is focused on building resources. Players will also be able to earn rewards through this mode, such as furniture and transformation stones.
High Isle is set to launch later this year, although it will be slow to roll out across platforms. PC, Mac, and Stadia will be the first to receive the new DLC on June 6, while console players will get access to the new content on June 21. The extra two weeks could be. It’s a bit of a pain for some console players, though it’s turned out to be pretty Standard.
The Elder Scrolls Online: High Isle will release on June 6 for PC, Mac, and Stadia, and June 21 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
