Elden Ring Renna Doesn’t Appear: How To Get Soul Calling Bells If You Miss Witches

The summoning bell is one of the most important items in the Elden Ring. However, some players noticed that Renna didn’t show up to give it to them. The conditions for this NPC’s appearance are well known at this point, but we don’t know if Renna’s disappearance was by mistake or by design. Luckily, there’s a way to get the Summoning Bell if the player can’t find her, which we’ll detail below.

Why doesn’t Renna appear in Elden Ring?

There are 3 reasons why Renna might not appear in Elden Ring:

• She leaves if the player does not visit her after a certain amount of time after activating her appearance.
• The trigger to make her appear has not been fired yet.
• She was supposed to appear, but a bug was preventing it.

Renna is supposed to appear at Elleh Church after the player obtains a Torrent from Melina. After the player finds their third Site of Grace (usually Gatefront), Melina appears and the player receives the Torrent the Spectral Steed. This is Renna’s suggestion to appear at the church and give the player the Calling Bell and the Ashes of the Lonely Wolf. Unfortunately, that doesn’t happen for some people.

So we know that getting a Torrent is a requirement for Renna to appear, but is it? Some players had said that she was missing and only appeared when they quickly made their way to Elleh Church. Others say she only shows up for them if it’s nighttime.

It would seem like there would be more directions for such an important meeting, but it’s really completely optional. However, the Calling Bell is actually not that hard to find, even if Renna never shows up.

How to get the Calling Bell without Renna

Melina will eventually introduce the player to a Roundtable Hold (usually after fighting Godrick) if they continue the game. The player can find an NPC named Twin Maiden Husks in this central area. If they have not obtained the Calling Bell and Lonely Wolf Ashes from Renna, the player can purchase them from this shop.
