Jar-Bairn is an NPC added Elden Ring in update 1.03. His quest is tied to another NPC, and he is Iron Fist Alexander’s grandson. With his mission relatively brief, players will probably wonder if he’ll see him again after leaving Jarburg.
How to complete the Jar-Bairn quest in Elden Ring
After the Elden Ring 1.03 patch, Jar-Bairn appeared on the porch of a building in Jarburg. He asks the player if they want to be the next Potentate since it seems the last person in the village is dead. Unfortunately, Jar-Bairn believes our protagonist’s hand is too rough to be a good Potentate. If the player leaves and returns, Jar-Bairn will tell them that the villagers say he can pick the flowers that grow in the village. However, the quest will not move to the next step until the player has progressed the Diallos quest to the point where he leaves Volcano Manor.
After Diallos has left Volcano Manor, and the player has completed Jar-Bairn’s quest to the point where he says they can pick flowers, then reload the area a few times and rest at the Site of Grace and Diallos will appear in a nearby building. Talk to him and then talk to Jar-Bairn to receive word that Diallos is the new Potentate of the village.
If they rest at the Site of Grace again, the player will find that many of the vases have been smashed and Diallos is mortally wounded trying to save them. Luckily, he was able to save one, Jar-Bairn. Talk to him in the middle of the village and then reload the area. Jar-Bairn will say he’s thinking of starting a journey, but he won’t really leave.
Players now need to complete Alexander the Jar Warrior’s quest and get Alexander’s Organs. Once they have the item, they can return it to Jarburg and give it to Jar-Bairn. Then he will have enough courage to start his journey and bid farewell to the player. Reload Jarburg again, and he will be gone. The amulet Companion Jar will be in his place.
Does Jar-Bairn appear in another location after leaving Jarburg?
Unfortunately, it seems that Jar-Bairn cannot be found again in the Elden Ring after he leaves Jarburg. This little pot with big dreams becomes a warrior like his uncle Alexander. Once he says he doesn’t think to see the player again, it sounds like he’s telling the truth.
However, we suspect this is the last time we will see Jar-Bairn. He proved to be a much-loved character, and people in general loved the live Cinderella villagers. If he turns out to be as well-traveled as his uncle, we could find him in a future Elden Ring DLC or the next game.
