Edge sync coming to Office 365 Business Essentials

Microsoft has announced that they are adding encrypted Edge Sync to Office 365 Business Essentials.

This will allow users to use encrypted sync with Microsoft Edge, which means Microsoft 365 account users will be able to sync their favorites, settings, addresses, passwords, extensions wide and secure collection between their different computers.

The full list includes:

  • Favorite
  • Password
  • Address and more (fill out form)
  • Collection
  • Setting
  • Extend
  • Open tabs (available in Microsoft Edge version 88)
  • History (available in Microsoft Edge version 88)

This feature will be disabled by default and will need to be enabled by administrators before it becomes available. Synchronization is enabled through user consent and the user can enable or disable synchronization for each of the data types listed above.

The rollout will begin in early January and be completed by mid-March.
