Developer Shiro Games is opening up and answering community questions about the upcoming game Dune: Spice Wars, will be published by Funcom. Today there’s a brand new FAQ that answers some of the most frequently asked questions since the game was announced.
Dune: Spice Wars Is one RTS with 4X . element. It is based in Frank Herbert Sand dunes universe from fiction. Shiro well developed Northgard, and a question asking about the similarities between the two. Both games are different by developer, but Sand dunes is “on a much larger scale, encompassing politics, transactions, covert operations, and deeper resource management systems”. They also added that this game will be about 2 to 3 times longer Northgard, according to the current plan.
They have announced that players will have access to two factions, the Harkonnen and the Atreides. These are two of the playable factions, with the other two coming at launch and the fifth coming in Early Access.
Finally, the questions answered by the developer provide a glimpse of what we can expect from the game. Given that everything is based on what’s in the book, it’s questionable whether other people Sand dunes the game has any influence and the team acknowledges that there may be some influence but the game is on its own and they believe it has a unique point in the fight for control of Arrakis.
There will be multiplayer and the goal is to add it in Early Access, because their focus right now is just getting the core game ready. Shiro game also planning a campaign but that will also come later after Early Access.
