Duel Princess producer’s suggested game has been banned on Steam

Duel Princess is a typical Galge/Bishoujo game that was just released on January 13th on Nintendo Switch in English, but it looks like the game has been denied concurrent release on PC Steam.
Duel Princess on Nintendo Switch explained
If you haven’t heard of Duel Princess, this is Qureate’s newest game. A Japanese developer focused on Bishoujo or Galge games. As in games with cute anime girls, mostly visual novels. And released them on Switch and PC.
It is worth noting that Qureate publishes all of its games with English localization. The studio’s games are generally quite short and low priced.
Duel Princess is the latest work of the Qureate. It combines the studio’s usual cute girls formula with tower defense and card gameplay inspired by Slay The Spire and the like. Duel Princess there is a clothing damage system and a “punish the girls” scene, similar to Crime girl or a lot of games from the Galge era on the Nintendo DS, PSP and PS Vita all have touch mechanics.
At the end of the day, Duel Princess not much worse than what Qureate usually does, but it looks like the game is still banned on Steam.

Qureate and Duel Princess Suggestion by game maker denied release on Steam
Explain why Duel Princess The official Qureate Twitter that hasn’t gone live on Steam, shared a special message this week. The English part of the tweet simply says “The release Duel Princess for Steam is currently undecided due to various reasons. ”
However, the Japanese part of the tweet adds, “We hope you enjoy the game on Nintendo Switch. Maybe it’s too naughty for Steam…”
Furthermore, Qureate producer Yujiro Usuda added in a quoted tweet:
“We were hoping to go as far as we could without getting the game banned, but it looks like we’ve gone too far. We will think about this and start making games that will definitely follow the rules… Just kidding, we will continue to make games that will definitely make you solid lol, so We hope you enjoy our latest work.”
It’s far from the first time Steam has arbitrarily released – or not released – anime-style games with sexual fanservice like this. Sadly this isn’t the first time a game has been banned and it won’t be the last either. There is no consistency behind Steam’s decisions under those circumstances.
While everyone knows for sure that anime characters wearing school uniforms + violence or fanservice is a no-no and repeatedly triggers the Steam ban.
It’s even funnier considering another Qureate game with lots of ads is coming to Steam this January 21st, Ninnin Day 2.
