dr Oz thanks Sean Hannity for providing “behind-the-scenes” advice on the Senate campaign

Trump-backed Pennsylvania Senate GOP nominee Dr. Mehmet Oz, on Tuesday night praised Fox News star Sean Hannity for beefing up his campaign and revealed the conservative star also supported him “behind the scenes”.

With the race still too close and only hundreds of votes separating him from Republican challenger Dave McCormick, the famous doctor thanked former President Donald Trump for his support.

“President Trump, after supporting me, has remained focused on this race in Pennsylvania,” Oz said at a watch party late Tuesday night. “He knows all the intricacies, he was willing to get involved in tele-town halls which he advised me which was a brilliant idea. He attended a large rally in Westmoreland County. God bless you sir for putting so much effort into this race. That makes me proud!”

Oz then turned his attention to Trump’s close pal Sean Hannity, who has spent the past week tearing down Oz’s rising GOP rival Kathy Barnette while imploring viewers to support the former TV star’s candidacy.

“I want to thank Sean Hannity,” said the Senate hopeful. “Sean is like a brother to me. When Sean nails something, he really nails it.”

Oz then claimed that the cable talk show host, often referred to as Trump’s shadow baton, also served as a close campaign adviser.

“He knows how to make a difference and he’s done that throughout the campaign,” Oz said. “A lot of it behind the scenes — and giving me advice in late-night chats. Again, the kind of things that true friends do for each other.”

Hannity’s intimate involvement in Republican politics and blurring of the line between partisan TV host and direct campaign adviser has been a headache for Fox News executives over the years.

In addition to dealing with the embarrassment of Hannity’s text messages with Trump and GOP officials, which, for example, regularly became public knowledge, the network also had to chide the host when he appeared onstage with Trump during a campaign event in Missouri during the 2018 midterm elections.
