Plot
The story begins in a forest near the Riders village. Three younger partners – the hero, Lilia and Cheval – encounter a bright egg.

The egg hatches, revealing a Rathalos, a flying wolf commonly known as the “King of the Sky.” The trio affectionately names him “Ratha,” and takes him once more to the village.
Days later, without warning, the village was besieged by a monster contaminated by “the Black Blight”. They deal with it, however no sooner it ravages the city – and leaves indelible scars on Cheval and Lilia’s hearts.

12 months passed…
The hero receives the Kinship Stone from the Village Chief and officially becomes a Knight. Cheval and Lilia each left the village, each going their separate ways. The hero, although now separated from his childhood friends, happily accompanies Navirou, and begins a whole new journey into the world of hunters.
