I saw it tonight Which doctor? ending its thirteenth season. A six-part miniseries titled Flush, season 13 is one of the show’s most ambitious runs, with multiple plot themes, different characters, and different locations across time and space. So there was a lot of effort in the finale to bring it all together and make sure that Flush is a satisfying whole. And does it succeed in that high order? Well, it depends on who you ask.
Unsurprisingly, especially in an era of divisive Chris Chibnall, it seems Who Fans are divided right in the middle of the season as social media is flooded with harsh and scathing reactions to this Sunday episode. First of all, those who like it, really enjoyed it, labeling it as one of the series’ best finals ever, praising it for its thrilling story, pacing, and Jodie Whittaker’s performance.
On the other hand, several other Whovians were overwhelmed by the finale, dubbed “The Vanquishers”. A common criticism is that people feel it doesn’t offer a clear resolution to the story. Many were also disappointed that it could not provide more answers to the mysteries of the ongoing “Child of Timeless” section. One fan even described it as the worst episode they’ve ever seen.
Well, whether you love it or not, the good news is that another episode is coming up to offer even more greats or to clean up your palette with something different. New Year’s special day this year called “Eve of the Daleks” and promised to be a Groundhog’s Day story in which the Doctor and friends are trapped in a time loop with some Dalek.
But for now, tell us what you think about Doctor Who: Flux finale in the comments.
