DM claims that Illias was not kicked by Virtus.Pro

A few days ago, Virtus.pro underwent a roster change, with Illias “Illias“Ganeev (aka “Kingslayer”) switched to inactive squad to make room for Egor”Xakoda“Lipartiya. While Virtus.pro noted in its statement that Illias will focus on privacy and health issues, the team’s curator, Dmitry”DM“Dorokhin, detailed the change following the team’s win over Team Empire earlier today. According to the DM, it was Illias’ health problems and exhaustion that caused him to retire from Dota 2. DM added.

DM clarifies Illias’ move to Virtus.pro .’s inactive list

After Virtus.pro’s crushing win over Team Empire at DPC Eastern Europe 2021-22 Tour 1: Division 1 in Xakoda’s debut series, the DM went to interview the winner after the match. When asked about Illias’ move to the inactive roster, the DM replied that he was dropped from competitive Dota 2 after The International 10 (TI10), but the team convinced him to continue. However, for now, it was too difficult for Illias to continue, so he decided to take a break.

“The real reason is the truth. Illias is having – some health trauma and he was really exhausted after TI. He wanted to relax, stop playing (Dota 2) for a while after TI but we, let’s say, convinced him he shouldn’t stop. And then he just felt worse and he said – Sorry, I can’t play. I need to cool off Dota a bit. So now he’s just recovering, fixing his health problems and getting cold. There’s nothing like a hitch, this guy is our friend and we have total respect for him. So it’s all about his cracks in real life. ”

Despite Virtus.pro’s clear statement that Illias will focus on his personal and health issues, there has been speculation whether the player will be dropped from the roster since the change took place on mid-season or not. Moreover, Virtus.pro was not nearly as good as it should be in the last season. But according to the DM, no bad blood exists among the players.

In their statement, Virtus.pro has also stated they will decide on their final roster after the season ends.

For now, Virtus.pro, with three wins and two losses, will aim to qualify for a Major. HellRaisers, Team Spirit and PuckChaosystem are pretty far ahead in the race and Virtus.pro will need to win both remaining series to have a chance to qualify. The team’s next series is scheduled for January 16, 2022 against arch-rivals Natus Vincere.
