DL Hughley joins and executive produces new sitcom based on his life

DL Hughley is preparing to return to the world of sitcoms!

According to the report, DL Hughley is developing a sitcom at Fox based on his life. The name of the upcoming film has yet to be announced, but the ‘Cloud 9’ actor is said to be the star of the multi-scene comedy. In addition to being the star and co-creator of the project, DL Hughley will also act as executive producer and writer.

According to reports, The comedy will follow the station personality Hughley like him

Navigating life as a husband and father to an LGBTQ+ daughter, an autistic son whose white girlfriend lives with them, and another daughter who can’t leave her credit card alone.”

The series’ other executive producers are Owen Smith (the show’s other co-creators) Michael Rotenberg and Dave Becky of 3 Arts, and Sheila Ducksworth, president of the joint NAACP/CBS Studios collaboration.

Hughley is no stranger to appearing on fantasy comedy shows. Actor/comedian who has guest starred on many popular sitcoms including; Park, Well, Sister, Sister, and Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.

He also had a sitcom of his own inspired by his life earlier titled The Hughleys. The series originally aired on ABC in 1998. However, in 2000, the sitcom switched networks and joined UPN. After 4 seasons, the show ended in 2002.
