Disrespectful Doctor wants Halo Infinite to remove stronghold mode

Since the surprise multiplayer launch on November 15, Dr Dispect has been among the many gamers who streamed games like Call of Duty: Warzone and Apex Legends on the rear burner to test Halo Infinite. Is the latest installment in Halo franchise, the game boasts many of the game modes seen throughout the series, such as Strongholds.

As one of the modes included in the Ranked Arena list, Strongholds frequently appear during matchmaking. The rules of this mode are relatively simple, players need to capture and hold at least 2 of the 3 strongholds on the map to score points. The first team to reach 250 points wins the match. Recently, Dr. YouTube live stream is disrespectful talked about his frustration with the game mode.

In a recent broadcast, Dr. Dispect made an interesting opinion about Halo Infinite. He believes that the developers at 343 Industries should get rid of Stronghold game type from multiplayer. “I said get rid of that game mode completely. I mean, just put it on the shelf,” he said after narrowly claiming victory. He believes this is just one of the few downsides present in first-person shooters. According to Dr. Dispect, Capture the Flag and Team Slayer are fun to play. He even admits that Oddball, although “a little hectic” at times, is a good change of pace. The only mode he doesn’t seem to like is Strongholds.

Doc isn’t the only one who doesn’t like the game mode, as ZLaner believes the competition Halo Infinite better without it as well. ZLaner went on to say that he thinks the Ranked Arena is perfect with only CTF, Slayer, and Oddball. However, Doc thinks developers can do more. “Let’s throw another one in there,” he said, referencing a new game mode. He called on the developers to create a unique and innovative game mode to replace Strongholds.

While Strongholds being pulled from the multiplayer playlist seems in doubt, it’s likely that the developers will tweak the game mode in the future. Since the multiplayer beta was released last week, the game studio has been receptive to fan feedback. It has made significant changes to another popular game mode, Oddball. It now includes a 5-minute rounding timer. This was done to fix games that lasted for an indeterminate amount of time.

Removing strongholds isn’t the only change Dr Disosystem has urged 343 to make to multiplayer. Recently, Doc confirmed damage stats in Halo Infinite need more attention. It will be interesting to see if the developers listen to these suggestions from the Docs on how to improve the game and whether Dr Dispect will continue to develop Ranked Arena in the interim.

Halo Infinite released on December 8 for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. Multiplayer beta is available now.
