Disney Plus will give us goosebumps with its Live-Action series

Grab your favorite creepy RL Stine book, your sharp mood ring, and your neon windbreaker for a live-action Goosebumps series is in the works, and Disney Plus has acquired the rights to the project. According to the report of Diversity Today, Disney Plus has chosen Goosebumps for the first 10 episode series.

The news may not seem surprising as it was first announced that Scholastic Entertainment is teaming up with Neal H. Moritz for the series to return in Year 2020. In a statement in conjunction with the original announcement, Scholastic Entertainment President and Chief Strategy Officer Iole Lucchese had this to say about the partnership with Sony and Neal H. Moritz:

“Goosebumps has kept children and families in their seats for nearly 30 years, and we’re excited to partner with Sony Pictures Television and Neal H. Moritz to bring the enduring brand to life in a whole new way. for today’s generation. From world-famous book series to full-scale licensing and even live-action movies with Jack Black, Goosebumps still extremely popular and we look forward to introducing new adventures to give our fans even more Goosebumps. ”

At the moment there is still very little information about the project but the premise for the live-action Goosebumps series as follows:

“A group of five high school students unleash supernatural forces on their town and all must work together – thanks to their friendship, rivalry, and past – to save it, learn more about their own parents’ teen secrets in the process. ”

Rob Letterman and Nick Stoller are set to write and executive produce the series. Sony Pictures TV set for production Goosebumps projects on Disney Plus.
