ONE Disco Elysium 2 release date is on the way, but few people know about it. What platform it will use, the setting and the characters are all shown. However, we can make some educated guesses about some aspects of the game and when we might see it come to fruition.
What is the Disco Elysium 2 release date?
There is no official release date for Disco Elysium 2, but we hypothesize that 2023 could be the earliest release date. The original game took three years to develop and serious development likely didn’t start from the second title until after Disco Elysium: The Last Cut Released in March 2021.
We know from an interview with GamingBolt that ZA/UM intends to do more with the Disco Elysium universe. The publication quotes lead writer Helen Hindpere as saying:
“The future holds more Elysium – we’ve spent years designing the world and we’re not ready to leave. Martinaise is just a small part of Revachol – and Revachol is just a single capital among many others. Who knows where the future will take us? ”
According to the creator of the Elysium universe, Robert Kurvitz, about six thousand years of history in the world has been outlined, so there is a lot of material available for a future sequel or prequel. However, there is doubt that we will see Harry or Kim return. The original’s entire amnesiac detective story won’t be duplicated, and it’s likely we’ll see a different narrative device used in the second game. The Inner Thought System is a big hallmark of the original, and the developers will likely use it differently in Disco Elysium 2.
What platforms will it be on?
We anticipate Disco Elysium 2 to release on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X | S. However, since it will likely have low hardware requirements, we could see it released on PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
