Devastated Families Remember 4 People Killed In Hickory Hills Crash That Split Car In Half – CBS Chicago

HIKORY HILLS, Ill. (CBS) – A day of remembrance by devastated family members and loved ones exploded Sunday after a car bomb exploded at noon and killed four people in Hickory Hills.
As CBS 2 reporter Marissa Parra reported, there were a total of six people inside the car hit the tree and split in two at 89th Street in Court 86 at around 2:30 p.m. Saturday. Two of the victims were pronounced dead at the scene, and two others died after sustaining injuries.

A day later at the scene, family members and relatives closed the balloon as a kind of memorial.
The names of the victims were not made public until Sunday afternoon, but the family identified one of the victims as 17-year-old Nathan Phillips.
His father was sad.

“Like everything in me I just want to sleep and I just want to cry – but I know if I do that, I’ll never get up,” Kenneth Roberts said.
Roberts said Phillips was apparently a passenger in the car. He shared a photo of their last trip together as a father and son.

Phillips was one of the high school seniors who, according to his father, had just started work.
The cause of the accident remained under investigation on Sunday. Neighbors told us that speed is a neighbor issue in the neighborhood.
Many questions remained about the accident on Sunday. We asked for more details, but Hickory Hills police said they would not respond to anything until Monday.
