Desperate Alex Jones seeks forgiveness from Trump after supporting DeSantis

Well, that didn’t last long.

Three days after declaring he had found someone “much better than” former President Donald Trump, far-right conspiracy theorist Alex Jones issued a pleading “emergency message” to ask the ex-president to forgive him, that he supported Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.

Despite being a vocal “stop the steal” advocate under investigation for his role in the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, Jones admitted last week that he had “stubbornly” supported Trump over the years. The InfoWars anchor insisted he had long “disagreed” with Trump’s mediocre at best endorsement of COVID-19 vaccines and endorsed a likely Trump rival for 2024.

“I support DeSantis,” Jones exclaimed on InfoWars last week. “DeSantis just went from great to incredible. And I’m not just watching a man’s doings like Christ said. Judge a tree by its fruit. I can look him in the eyes even on HD videos and see the real sincerity.”

He continued, “This is how Trump should be. And I’ve been pounding on that point, and it’s doing it now. And we have someone better than Trump. Much better than Trump.”

After sparking a minor media firestorm with his comments, Jones backed down over the weekend, insisting he was of course being taken out of context by the “corporate media”. He also wanted the twice-impeached former president to know he hadn’t “abandoned” him amid Trump’s avalanche legal troubles.

Jones – an outspoken anti-vaccination opponent – described his message as an “emergency warning” to the ex-president, claiming he was simply trying to tell Trump that public health officials had “lied” to him about the vaccines’ effectiveness.

“Not a warning out of a desire to hurt you, Mr. Trump, but to save your important legacy and hopefully ensure you can return to the White House in 2024,” gushed the disgraced Sandy Hook truther.

“We know the election was stolen! We know the Deep State is trying to trick you in any way they can,” added a pandering Jones. “We understand that you are a lion surrounded by hyenas.”

Jones claimed the “number one issue that’s going to end up biting your ass like nothing else” is vaccinations.” However, Jones assured the ex-president he was still in his corner.

“So that’s my emergency message for you, Mr. President,” he pleaded. “To go and watch the first 30 minutes of Thursday’s show… so you can see what I said in context. The corporate media cut it down to a 30 second clip to make it sound like I was just for DeSantis and like I left you. That is not true. On the contrary.”

Jones concluded breathlessly: “I understand you are being attacked, I understand you are surrounded and I am trying to get you to reassess the situation. I know people like [Donald Trump Jr.] tell you that you need to reassess the situation.”

Always thirsty for attention, this isn’t the first time the InfoWars host has publicly wavered in his support for Trump, only to run back.

He has called the former president a “fool” for urging voters to get vaccinated and even threatened to “wash dirt” off Trump if he continued to advocate for the vaccine. Jones has even gone so far as to lament that he’s “fucking fed up with Trump” and wished he’d “never f***ing met him.” And just last month, he asked MAGA Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene to run for president, calling her “smarter” than DeSantis and Trump.
