Deep Rock Galactic has a new season with a robot nemesis

Deep Rock Galactic brings the frenetic action of a four-player co-op shooter like Left 4 Dead, and then adds loads of sci-fi gadgets to the mix. The player is a group of dwarves in a late-capitalist space-exploring crew, and the group must work together to survive in the work they continue. The game’s sequel, called Rival Escalation, adds a terrifying new killer robot, a new secondary weapon for each class, and an update to the game’s cosmetics system.

The action of Deep Rock Galactic takes place on Hoxxes IV, a planet filled with precious minerals and other loot. Unfortunately for players, it’s also rife with hostile bugs and deadly bots. Rival Escalation adds a new deadly enemy robot that will spawn to hunt down dwarves – and if you get too close, you could get caught by its claws.

Dwarf miners, who can choose from four classes with their own abilities and missions, have some extra firepower on their side to diversify their playstyle. Each layer has a new tool; For example, the Gunner has a new scroll gun that can shoot through solid rock, while the Driller has a whirlpool stove that can literally microwave enemies in its path. These weapons come with upgrade trees and cosmetics, so players can mix, match, and fine-tune the details to create their favorite battle set.

Developer Ghost Ship Games carefully designed the game’s DLC and cosmetics to be relatively rewarding and avoid FOMO. Players can purchase the Robot Rebellion DLC pack to wear an array of armor picked up from season 1’s enemies, and the shop is being updated to accept a new currency called Phazyonite which can be found in mines or through leveling up in the Cosmetic Mastery levels.

There is also a season; players can join any quest to level up pass the season and unlock special cosmetics or bonus items. Players who missed season 1 can get those items through crates and packs hidden in the mine, as well as the shop at a later date. Season 2: Rival Escalation will launch on April 28 on Steam and May 5 for Xbox and PlayStation players. Deep Rock Galactic has a new season with a robot nemesis
