‘Decent Citizen’ turns in large sums of cash found in Port Coquitlam, BC – BC

Coquitlam RCMP is searching for a rightful owner after an “honest citizen” discovered and turned over a substantial amount of cash to police.

The person found the undisclosed amount of money Wednesday at the 500 block of Dominion Avenue in Port Coquitlam, BC.

The owner must be able to describe the amount, denomination, and item used to carry the cash.

“There’s nothing to be ashamed of,” Const said. Deanna Law in a Thursday press release reminding the public they can file a police report for lost cash.

“Accidents happen and the police just want to give the money back to the person who lost it.”

The owner of the cash is asked to call the department’s non-emergency number at 604-945-1550 and provide file number 2022-17143.
