Dead Cells Reveals ‘The Queen and the Sea’ DLC for 2022
A brand new DLC expansion is coming to Dead Cells in 2022, adding a new area that will close Beheaded’s journey beyond the castle.
Dead cells recently released one of its biggest updates, adding more content to the popular fake Metroidvania. Called Everyone is here Update, it adds some character and references to many of the indie games that have been hugely popular in recent years. These include other famous indie Metroidvanias like Hollow Knight and Guacamelee.
Motion Twin’s roguelike Metroidvania has been flourished for nearly three years, resounding with fans and critics alike for its fast-paced gameplay. This is not only obvious to Dead cells sold over six million copies, but also won several awards at the time of its 2018 release. To celebrate all of these important milestones, including Motion Twin’s 20th anniversary, the developer announced a paid expansion More fees coming soon.
This new paid expansion will be called “The Queen and The Sea,” and it will add a lot weapon to Dead cells, along with two new late-game biome areas. The Steam page promises shipwrecks and a lighthouse. A new boss fight is also being promised, presumably against this expansion’s iconic villain, the Queen depicted in the trailer. It also shows three other antagonistic subordinates of the Queen, each with their own set of weapons. A new ending will be unlocked upon completion of this latest installment Dead cells DLC.
Video description and tweet note that this expansion will end the current paid trilogy Dead cells DLC with other entries being The Bad Seed and Fatal Falls, the second was released earlier this year. These three expansions all take place outside the game’s walls, and the latest will be to complete the Beheader’s journey in these areas.
The new one Dead cells The expansion will launch in early 2022 for $4.99 and will be released on both console and PC. The video description notes that selling DLC will allow developers to continue producing free updates for the game Dead cellsand allow them to implement as many ideas as possible. The Twitter account also explains that this will be the final DLC of this trilogy, but this does not mean that the developers have ended production of more DLC in the future.
