At the summit, Wallace, whose 17-year-old daughter, Jamahri Sydnor, was killed by a stray bullet in August 2017, spoke about the heartbreak of losing a child. Wallace, then a DC police sergeant investigating child abuse cases, told the teenagers that “the decisions you make today will affect people’s lives”.
