David Harbour explains his Red Guardian character in ‘Black Widow’

The Purple Guardian, created by writer-editor Roy Thomas and the late, legendary artist John Buscema, first appeared in “The Avengers” No. 43, printed by Marvel Comics in 1967. Harbour says he flipped by a number of of the character’s comic-book appearances however knew the “Black Widow” film wouldn’t lean in to these tales too closely.
