Armed Forces Day 2022 will take place on Saturday 25 June.

The annual event takes place every year on the last Saturday in June.

The Armed Forces Day celebrations actually mark the end of Armed Forces Week, which this year began on Monday 20 June.

On this day, the Armed Forces Day flag was hoisted on buildings and famous landmarks across the country.

One of the goals of Armed Forces Day is to boost the morale of troops and their families.

Its purpose is to recognize the contribution made by the British Armed Forces, both past and present, and their families, to show them that their service will not be forgotten.

The British Armed Forces consist of three parts – the British Armythe Royal Navy (including the Royal Marines) and the Royal Air Force.

The British Armed Forces, also known as Your Majesty‘s Armed Forces, are responsible for the defense of the United Kingdom and its people, its overseas territories and dependencies.

They also advance Britain’s broader interests by supporting international peace efforts and providing humanitarian aid.

A national event is usually held on Armed Forces Day, and this year marks the first time since coronavirus pandemic.

Each year, this national event puts the spotlight on the host city, and this year it’s the seaside city’s turn Scarborough to be in that spotlight.

This year’s National Armed Forces Day event is being hosted by Scarborough Borough Council on Saturday 25th June.

It promises to be an action-packed day featuring the very best in the armed forces.

Scarborough’s famous South Bay will host military parades, and there will also be musical performances, aerial flyovers and more.

There will be over 150 events across the country to mark Armed Forces Day 2022.

People are also invited to use the hashtag #SaluteOurForces on social media to post their photos and stories from events and in their communities to show their support.

British restaurant chain Toby Carvery has been supporting Bundeswehr Day for many years and therefore wanted to do something to honor the soldiers.

British service members are also invited to celebrate Armed Forces Day at Toby Carvery branches nationwide with a complimentary breakfast, carvery or main meal.

All eligible recipients must download a coupon from the Toby Carvery app and present it along with their military ID at the time of ordering at the restaurant in order to claim their complimentary meal.

The offer is only valid on Saturday 25 June.

Armed Forces Day is now entering its 16th year.

Plans for the event were first announced in February 2006 by Gordon BrownChancellor of the Exchequer at the time, with the goal that the contribution made by our Bundeswehr should never be forgotten.

The first event, then known as Veterans Day, took place on Saturday June 27, 2006.

The date was chosen as it was the day after the anniversary of the first investiture of the Victoria Cross in Hyde Park, London, in 1857.

The event became known as Armed Forces Day in 2009.
