With the penultimate day of the 2021 season on the ATP Tour, the semi-finals of ATP Finals 2021 starting with world number 2 and defending champion Daniil Medvedev debuted and ranked 8th in the world Casper Ruud. This will be Daniil’s eighth semi-final of the season while Casper’s ninth.
Medvedev entered the tournament as the 2nd seed and reached the final without losing a single group stage match. He, however, had to win every match in 3 sets but the Russian survived all the tests and even saved the point in his 3rd round match against Jannik Sinner who replaced? Matteo Berrettini after the second was forced to withdraw due to injury.
Casper Ruud came out this year and his first test was 5 times champion and world number 1 Novak Djokovic who won the match in straight sets but the numbers did not determine Casper’s performance against the Serbs. Ruud then won the next two matches, 3 sets each with his last match against Andrey Rublev go into set 3 in a must-win match for both players.

Daniil Medvedev vs Casper Ruud: Where to watch, live and broadcast
Medvedev entered the match with a win Hubert Hurkacz, Alexander Zverev and Sinner while Ruud will come out with defeat to Djokovic followed by victory Cameron Norrie and Rublev. The duo will meet for the third time in and this will be their second meeting this year when they last met in the quarterfinals of the World Cup. Mallorca Championship 2021, where Medvedev went on to win his first grass court title.
While Ruud has a 100% win record in this year’s finals, he has also lost 3 semi-finals. As for Medvedev, the Russian tennis player has 4 titles from 6 finals he has played and lost only 1 semi-final this year.
