Daniel Defense – the maker of the Uvalde shooter’s “perfect rifle” – abruptly resigns from the NRA convention

On a Memorial Day weekend when we honor those who have died serving our country, the company that made a weapon of war that killed 19 children and two adults at a Texas elementary school planned to sell its wares at the annual collective to sell the arms industry disgrace.

But after Tuesday’s carnage in Uvalde, Daniel Defense is no longer destined to join all the other beneficiaries of violent death at this weekend’s NRA conference in Houston.

By Wednesday afternoon, the company should have occupied booth 4839, conveniently located near the cafe at the George R. Brown Convention Center, amid what the NRA describes as “14 acres of guns and equipment.”
