I’ve always liked matcha, but I wouldn’t necessarily call myself a die-hard fan. Now that summer is too hot for coffee outside, an iced oatmilk matcha latte is the perfect afternoon treat. In the past I’d never kept matcha at home (mainly because I had no idea where the stuff came from or how it was made), but my recent discovery of the Cuzen Matcha Maker completely changed the way I think about caffeine. I no longer wait for an overpriced “Cup-o-mach”. Now I make my own matcha at home, with my own leaves, which saves time and money.

Why grind your own matcha? Well, have you seen the price of matcha powder at the grocery store or Starbucks?! Plus, grinding your own matcha leaves at home preserves the natural health benefits you get from matcha’s high antioxidant content. Store-bought, pre-ground matcha powder loses quality and nutrient density over time.

The Cuzen Matcha Maker Kit has a stylish, modern design, takes up minimal counter space, and easily tucks away in my closet when I need it. The intuitive product design with detachable elements inside and outside makes cleaning and daily use easier.

The process of making Matcha is wonderful to behold. Cuzen offers a select range of matcha leaves available in packs of 20 to 60 cups in three flavors. Once you’ve emptied the packet into the top of the device, it sets about grinding and processing the leaves into a fine powder. Below the grinder, a magnetic stirrer spins underwater to whisk the perfectly blended shot of matcha.

Now let’s talk about technology. The Cuzen Matcha Maker grinds leaves to about half the size of a hand mill. While both a hand grinder and beater will produce a silky smooth powder, the convenience of having an automated matcha maker do the work for you cannot be overstated. Also, the aluminum chamber prevents the leaves and powder from oxidizing, allowing the user to keep up to 20 matcha drinks in the machine at a time.
