It comes as Cuomo broke his silence for the primary time since saying his resignation.
As CBS2’s Christina Fan experiences, in his first interview since his surprising resignation, Cuomo made it sound like he did the state a favor. Cuomo told New York Magazine “I’m not gonna drag the state by way of the mud, by way of a three-month, four-month impeachment, after which win, and have made the State Legislature and the state authorities appear like a ship of fools.”

The interview befell the identical day Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie introduced the abrupt suspension of the impeachment investigation, whereas admitting there was sufficient credible proof to lead to articles of impeachment.
“This can be a actual unhealthy search for Albany,” mentioned Nassau County Republican Assemblyman Ed Ra.
Ra is fuming over the choice.
“Given the circumstances one of the simplest ways I may also help now’s to step apart,” Cuomo mentioned when he announced his resignation.
Heastie insists the state structure doesn’t authorize the legislature to question and take away an elected official who’s not in workplace.

So then why had been so many committee members below the impression they might proceed the investigation?
“One of many issues that leaves a bitter style in my mouth is, to me, the speaker empowered the committee to undertake this investigation. They had been ready to take it to its conclusion,” Ra mentioned.
As New York GOP Chairman Nick Langworthy identified earlier this week.
“The taxpayers have already paid the invoice,” Langworthy mentioned.
Friday evening, the outraged Republican members of that committee mentioned, partially, the choice “runs opposite to the objectives of transparency and accountability” and “represents an egregious insult to the numerous victims of Gov. Cuomo’s actions.”
Maybe no person is extra upset than the accusers.
The Meeting’s determination to name off its impeachment investigation is an unjust cop out. The general public deserves to know the extent of the Governor’s misdeeds and potential crimes. His victims deserve justice and to know he will be unable hurt others.
