Fans will often overlook the inaccuracies of a show for the sake of entertainment, but Marvel’s Hawk Eye received backlash for an episode’s description of firefighters.

Recently posted on Reddit by a fan who called the show for insinuations before Grills, a firefighter stole a Ronin costume from Kate Bishop’s burned-out apartment after setting it on fire.

A story with Hawk Eye the episode is a description of Grills, interspersed with what he actually does. One user noted that the theft – from someone’s burned house, nothing more – is just the tip of the iceberg for the character, who is on a lengthy journey of redemption.

Fans called out not only Grills’ action, but injustice as he faced zero consequences even if caught by Clint Barton.

Grills is the only firefighter on the show, which makes his personality all the more remarkable. MaverickBuster gives an old account of how some real life firefighters reacted.

Those who have problems with Grills should also question the actions of heroes throughout Hawk Eye. Boyfrommd points out that Grills’ actions are easily forgiven when compared to the much more serious crimes of protagonist Clint, who murdered multiple people after the ‘snap’ occurred in Avengers: Infinity War.
