Julia Bradbury braced herself for any baddies lurking on her social media accounts as she blessed her followers with a bikini snap.

The Countryfile host joined the country in soaking up the heat this week and trying to find space on a beach – enviably – to relax and sunbathe.

In her latest Instagram post, Julia is seen lying on the sand in a duck-neck blue two-piece bikini with floral decorations.

She wrote in the caption: ‘Hey Skinny shamers… Hope you’re enjoying the sunshine. My collarbone is still sticking out… and I ate my fries! ‘

Hashtags include: ‘#skinnysharing #sunshine #nohate.’

Julia’s followers have sent her messages of support, including one commenting: ‘A picture of positive and healthy choices in life. Enjoy the sun.’

‘That’s the right attitude,’ another praised.

One fan quipped: ‘Fun in the sunshine Julia! It’s never too hot for fries. ‘

The 50-year-old was overwhelmed by the heartwarming messages and was followed by a photo of herself wearing workout gear along with the caption: ‘So many positive responses from my embarrassing posts.. a lot of people are grateful that I spoke out about how unacceptable it is to shame people online/via social media.

‘I’m old enough & experienced enough to handle this job but millions of people are suffering from #health problems & eating disorders. We need to practice kindness here. I’m glad I was able to turn a negative into a positive. I just want to say.. you are all beautiful 💛.

‘Don’t let the small-minded people put you off, and feel free to tap into social media – embrace all the good and not the negative!’

The TV star also included a quote by Charlie and actor Deep Roy of The Chocolate Factory, which said: ‘Inspiration comes from within yourself. You have to be positive. When you are positive, good things happen. ‘

One supporter replied: ‘You are an inspirational woman and one of the best TV personalities around so keep doing your thing.’

Another said: ‘The person staring at you in the mirror is the only one that matters. Keep doing what you’re doing and stay positive.’

Julia is passionate about promoting body confidence for women over 50 and recently detailed the level of abuse she receives from trolls, including someone asked her if she had cancer and is undergoing chemotherapy.
