TELLER COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) — A person who escaped jail lower than per week after being sentenced to many years behind bars for taking pictures at police was taken again into custody Tuesday.
Chancey Ray Colwell was present in Cañon Metropolis, greater than 5 days after his escape and roughly 50 miles away from the detention heart he left briefly behind.
Colwell was on an inmate work task on the Teller County Jail on Friday when made his getaway. He was reported lacking at 2:55 a.m.
Cañon Metropolis Police Division officers and Fremont County Sheriff’s Workplace deputies converged on a residence within the 200 block of Pear Road, according to report from Colorado Springs CBS affiliate KKTV.
