Conor McGregor claims UFC lightweight, calls Dustin Poirier trilogy ‘unfinished’

Conor McGregor is on the verge of two straight losses to UFC lightweight title challenger Dustin Poirier, but he’s still taking the top spot in the discipline.

McGregor (June 22) took to Twitter Monday in an attempt to find a UFC title that does exist, and dismiss the defeat to Poirier from reality. McGregor insists that his three-part fight with Poirier at UFC 264 in July is far from over, despite his first ever TKO loss in the record books. McGregor immediately claimed a UFC lightweight title against Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 229 in October 2018, albeit under different circumstances.
