Congress demands probe after CAG flags irregularities in BharatNet project

The General Assembly on Saturday requested an independent, high-level and time-limited investigation into financial irregularities in the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) was flagged by the Auditor General and Auditor General (CAG) in its preliminary report.

Speaking at a press conference here, Speaker of the National Assembly Pawan Khera stated that financial irregularities in MeitY were the reason behind the decline of Ravi Shankar Prasad from Union Cabinet.

“What action will you take to punish those who are accused of stealing thousands of coins,” Khera asked the Prime Minister.

Khera further asked, “The company or through any maze of companies has benefited from Ministry of Electronics and Information Tech donated to kittens by BJP? ”

“How many such companies exist using the Ashoka Symbol (State Symbols of India) and government facilities masquerading as government entities? “, he said.

Khera requested an independent, high-level, time-limited investigation into the activities of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology.
