The final week of the regular season has arrived, which means a nasty announcement: Rivals Week. In these bitter games, throw away the record books and expect things to change as opponents try to ruin the season.
Each week, potential swings are picked based on favorable matches, context (i.e. location, competition, game looking beyond) or just a good sense of fashion. For maximum effect, it is necessary to consider a difference of at least three points – the larger the better.
We really hope you’ve been following our picks for Week 12 because it’s the money. Our nasty warning correctly predicted Colorado would rock Washington and Louisiana to destroy Liberty. Also, Nebraska kept things close with Wisconsin and Kansas making TCU almost very uncomfortable – having to use a goal at the whistle to decide the game.
Let’s end the regular season with a bang.
Important disclaimer: “unpleasant” is determined by the odds, not the ranking.
When: Friday, 12 p.m. ET | Where: Austin, Texas
Texas Longhorns -3
We’re doing this, Vegas? Texas has completely collapsed since starting 4-1, losing a historic six in a row for the first time since 1956. The Longhorns only had a 31-23 loss to a West Virginia team near the bottom. congress rankings. Granted, KSU . toilet money Skylar Thompson could miss the game with an injury. The Wildcats lost three games when Thompson was injured during the season. But against a Texas team that seems to have given up, take the points. ATS: Kansas State, SU: Kansas State
When: Saturday, 2 p.m. ET | Where: Birmingham, Alabama
UAB Jacket -13.5
The Blazers lost an emotional game to 22 UTSA on a last-second touchdown to thwart their chances of winning a second consecutive Conference USA championship. Now, UAB plays nothing but pride as the program has won at least two-thirds of their games every year since the resumption of football in 2017. In contrast, UTEP can win eight games for the first time. since 2005 and it has explosive attack patterns and choking defenses that can sneak up on unsuspecting opponents. ATS: UTEP, SU: UAB
No. 3 Alabama at Auburn
When: Saturday, 3:30 p.m. ET | Where: Auburn, Alabama
Alabama Crimson Tide -19.5
On paper, the three-point line between Iron Bowl opponents makes sense. But in the state of Alabama, the game is not played on paper. The Crimson Tide won their last two SEC games against Arkansas and LSU No. 25 by a total of 13 points, hardly the kind of performance that shows victory over opponents down the road. Granted, Auburn lost 21-17 to South Carolina without a quarterback Bo Nix, but expect the Tigers to come out with some juice against Tide. ATS: Auburn, SU: Alabama
When: Saturday, 3:30 p.m. ET | Where: Eugene, Oregon
Oregon Duck -7
The Beavers beat Oregon in Corvallis last season for the first time since 2016 and followed it up with their first season since 2013. Could there be a better story to follow that up with their first win over Eugene since 2007? Oregon has just suffered an embarrassing 38-7 loss to 19 Utah and is preparing for a defeat. Oregon State quarterback Connor Noland and running again BJ Baylor generates one of the most underrated backward fields in College football. The line is too big. ATS: Oregon State, SU: Oregon
When: Saturday, 3 p.m. ET | Where: Las Cruces, New Mexico
New Mexico State Aggies -6.5
Strange reports began circulating this week that the State of New Mexico has arranged its next head coach – while current head coach Doug Martin still has a job. In contrast, UMass fired head coach Walt Bell a few weeks ago, but hired Don Brown to reinstate the program. So what makes your players more prepared, coached by a makeshift person or coached by a dead man walking? Here’s a tiebreak: UMass actually had an FBS win this year. NMSU’s only win was against South Carolina State. ATS: UMass, SU: UMass
