Colin Farrell’s Penguin to Star in his Own Series after ‘The Batman’

Colin Farrell has officially signed on to continue portraying the fan-favorite Batman villain, The Penguin, after The Batman comes out this March. The series will be executive produced by Batman director Matt Reeves and producer Dylan Clark, presumably to air on HBO Max.
The series is expected to portray the character’s origins and his rise to the top of the Gotham City crime world. Penguin is one of Batman’s earliest villains in the comics and is often portrayed as a more thrifty, erudite (and tenacious) villain than many of the other villains in Rogue’s Rogue Gallery. Batman, such as The Joker, Bane and the Riddler. However, like Danny Devito’s version of the character in Tim Burton’s movies, Farrell’s Penguin seems to be something of a re-imagining unlike anything fans have seen before. In the trailer, the character is uttering cryptic dialogue that could cross from a gangster movie about a period of depression.
Farrell is no stranger to comic books, having portrayed Daredevil’s arch-nemesis Bullseye in the 2003 film Daredevil. However, he was also critically acclaimed for his performance in the 2003 film Daredevil. movies are more tech-oriented than in the past few years. His performance in seven psychopaths, In Bruges, and Lobster all attract acclaim.
The new Batman, Robert Pattinson, mainly focuses on the following unusual roles sunset, so the casting seems like a good fit for the upcoming movie.

Lauren LeFranc is attached as the showrunner for the series. LeFranc had hands-on experience with superhero fare, writing to The leader’s minions as well as acting as a presenter for the HBO Premium series, Promote, which features a young woman dealing with teleportation powers.
The Penguin series will be DC’s second series rooted in the latest iteration of the Batman franchise, with plans already in the works for a series centered around the Gotham City Police Department. If they both air, they’ll be on James Gunn’s People of Peace TV series that originate directly from the current DC cinematic universe.
Batman, starring Robert Pattinson as Batman, Farrell as the Penguin, and Paul Dano as The Riddler, will be released in March 2022.
