NEW UPDATE ON EVENT RESIDENCE: CODE VERONICA FAN REMAKE
Rear group Resident Evil: Code Veronica initially announced the rework in December 2021. Although small, the team includes incredible collaborators as leaders Matt Croft, Briins Croft and DarkNemesisUmbrella.
Over time, other collaborators like Designer José Maria Saboya joined to expand the rework effort. Overall, the project aims to stay true to the original story while adding a modern flair to the game’s graphics and animations.
The remake will be released in 3 chapters, each about 4 hours long. These 12 hours of gameplay are all recreated in Unity, with the aim of increasing gameplay stability and updating enemy behavior. The player can now try to dodge the zombies, which can also bite the player in battle.
Additionally, the team developed a new set of animations for both Claire Redfield and the enemy. The movements are said to feel more natural, less noisy than an old console port. Characters react to their surroundings – Claire reacts to the heat of a fire, or to a downpour. The dedication to creating a more realistic experience has resulted in a truly stunning remake.
Resident Evil: Code Veronica slated to launch sometime in 2022. And, lucky for any fans excited to join Code Veronica, the game will be free to play at launch. The team will also release a “Lite” version of the remake, built for older PCs. Ultimately, their goal is to make the remake as accessible as possible for any fan who wants to play.
