Cloud9 Announces LCS 2022 roster with Fudge in mid lane, Summit, Berzerker, Winsome

In addition to the big hunts from across the pond, C9 is also moving top laner and NA rising star Fudge to mid to replace Perkz. This is a big change for the organization after deciding to replace many background characters like Zven, Vulcan, and Perkz in the lineup. C9 has been one of the LCS’s top three organizations for years, but fans haven’t seen such a heavy commitment to imported Korean players in a long time. The last time the organization picked a player from the LCK was in 2016, when they signed Ray and Impact.

The past year has been pretty up and downhill for Cloud9 after making a big splash with the purchase of Perkz in 2021. Many considered them the LCS shooting champions, but after a rough couple of weeks, it’s clear that This team had some issues with the gameplay that prevented them from finding consistency throughout the seasons.

Cloud9 won the 2021 Mid-Season LCS, but was eliminated a little early at the Mid-Season Invitational. They struggled a bit more in the 2021 Summer Split, and then, lost to 100 Thieves in the knockout stages. However, their biggest feat this year came from the 2021 World Championship, where they were able to reach the knockout stages of the tournament by knocking out both China’s FunPlus Phoenix and Europe’s Rogue in the group that is said to be the Death of the event.
