Cleveland Indians have now become the Cleveland Guardians

There was a long wait to see what the new name would be for Cleveland Indians the baseball team and eventually we got our answer and a new medal.

On Friday, the commercial franchise announced that the team would transfer its name to the Cleveland Guardian. In addition, the franchise retains the same color scheme as the previous name.

Honestly, it’s not a bad name, especially when you introduce a famous person like Tom Hanks, as he introduces the new name in a video released by the club and reminds them of their history.

The new name has been in the works for months after a months-long debate over the team’s name and Wahoo boss’s original logo. Moreover, other concessions with an American Native American heritage need to change their names, especially the Washington Redskins, now known as Team Football Washington.

But fans had different results when they heard the new name. Some found it positive, while others, to put it simply, not so much.

The Cleveland Guard takes a little time to get used to, but it’s an interesting choice that makes sense.

The history of baseball in Cleveland had its ups and downs. In terms of their biggest moments, they hold the longest winning streak in the history of the American League at 22 straight victories and have appeared six times in the World Series, and with those two championships they show that.

However, there have been several years of frustration, proving that the concession has not won a world series since 1948. They came close in 2016, only seven short of the Chicago Cubs. Also, in 2007, with a 3-1 win in the American Championship League, Cleveland lost its way and fell to the Boston Red Sox.

Maybe the new name could usher in a new era of change? Only time will tell. At the same time, the hardest part is probably the Cleveland Guard will get used to saying Cleveland Indians.
