Citroen Ami UK price and specs confirmed

Quirky electric four-wheeler offered in three passenger trims plus My Ami Cargo from £7,995

The tiny electric four-wheeler is offered in three passenger specifications, as well as a single-seat My Ami Cargo delivery version, and comes with the option of colored accessory packs to assemble at home.
An exact sale date is expected to be confirmed in the coming weeks, but customers can secure an Ami now with a £250 deposit.
Base versions of the Ami cost £7,695 and are genuinely basic, in keeping with the vehicle’s simple ethos. Standard equipment includes a digital speedometer, LED front and rear lights, a panoramic glass roof and a USB charging port, as well as a couple of seats and not much more.
Buyers can upgrade their standard Ami with one of three color packs. The £400 kits – available in orange, blue or gray – include colour-coded wheel trims, rear pillar decals, dash storage boxes, dash bag hooks, exterior door pods, as well as colour-coded storage nets and floor mats. They’re also adding a dashboard phone mount and junction box so drivers can use the MyCitroën app to monitor the vehicle’s charge level.
The Ami Pop starts at £8,495 and comes preloaded with the orange color pack as standard. It adds black trim to the Ami’s “face”, the lower front and rear bumpers and around the taillights. Pop versions also feature a black rear spoiler and orange decals surrounding the door pods with a number 2 design.
Stepping up to the £8,895 Ami Vibe will see the top of the front bumper, front and rear bumper bases and taillight bezels painted black. The top-of-the-range model also gets decorative black roof rails, black wheel arches and “Contours” decals on the doors and front fenders.
The £7,995 My Ami Cargo will go on sale at the same time as the two-seat passenger version. Designed as a last mile freight solution for delivery companies and other urban businesses, it offers 400 liters of cargo space. Instead of a passenger seat, it gets a modular 250-litre lid storage box with adjustable floor height and “mobile office” top.
All versions of the Ami are powered by an 8hp electric motor and have a tiny 5.5kWh battery. According to Citroen, the Ami will hit 27.5mph (although it doesn’t reveal how long that will be) and cover 46 miles between charges.
A charging cable integrated into the passenger door frame allows the Ami’s battery to be fully recharged in around three hours via a 7 kW Type 2 connection.
In its native France, the Ami is available on a long-term rental scheme, where it costs from €19.99 a month, and on a car-sharing scheme, where drivers pay around €10 a month and then 26 cents a minute to use. For the time being, Citroen is keeping a low profile as to whether such an approach could come to the UK.
Eurig Druce, Managing Director of Citroën UK, said: “I am delighted that we are able to announce the pricing and specifications for the Ami and My Ami Cargo in the UK. These exciting new four-wheelers show how the Citroën brand is bringing innovation, electric mobility and clever design to the widest possible audience, offering customers a radically different view of urban transport. What’s really exciting is that we’re bringing Ami to market in the UK due to huge public demand – it’s a perfect example of our ‘Power to the People’ mindset.”
At first, Citroen was unsure about bringing the Ami to the UK, but was encouraged by strong customer interest. Since the UK release was confirmed, more than 2,000 people have made deposits for an Ami.
