The Cincinnati Reds added Michael Lorenzen to the 10-day injury list Monday with a right hamstring injury.
Lorenzen, 29, is a two-way, throw-in and off-court player.
The right winger missed the first three months of the season with a sore shoulder before returning last week.
Lorenzen only appears once on the field. He went into Saturday’s 7-4 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers in the eighth inning, giving up one shot and walking away while beating two.
Then he played the 9th inning on the right and the 10th in the center. At the end of the 10th half, Lorenzen scored the game-ending goal on a sacrificial fly.
However, he got up while running home and left the game.
The Reds sent left-wing Cionel Perez to Triple-A Louisville and promoted right-handers Ruben Alaniz and Edgar Garcia in respective moves on Monday.
Cincinnati also appointed right wing Jose De Leon and midfielder Mark Payton.
