Chilling surveillance video shows what the suspect did minutes after the massacre march

The man accused of chopping down participants at a Wisconsin parade was captured on a doorbell video recorded shortly after the tragedy that left five people dead and 48 injured.

Police have charged Darrell Brooks Jr., 39, with five counts of murder in connection with the incident in which an SUV plowed through a Christmas parade in Waukesha, Wisconsin.

Video recorded by Daniel Rider, resident of Waukesha, and shared with NBC. Rider lives far away tragedy took place.

The video begins with Brooks, who appears shaken, wearing only a t-shirt in the cold November, knocking on Rider’s front door about 20 minutes after the incident.

“I called an Uber and I’m waiting for it here, but I don’t know when it’s going to come,” Brooks said. “Can you call it for me? I’m not at home.”

Rider later said he didn’t know what had happened at the parade site because he had gone hunting and came home to watch a football game.

He said he let Brooks in, gave him a coat, and allowed him to use his cell phone.

The video shows Brooks walking on the sidewalk in front of Rider’s house, apparently trying to reach someone to help him flee.

“Suddenly, I looked out into the street and saw several police cars passing by and I became more and more worried,” Rider said.

At that point, Rider tells Brooks to leave. Though Brooks complied, he didn’t last long.

The video shows him banging on the door again, claiming that he was leave his identification inside.

“Then the next thing you know, you see the cop with the flashlight on him saying, ‘hand in the air, hand in the air,’” Rider said.

Rider’s neighbors called the police. They arrived when Brooks was pacing back and forth on Rider’s front porch.

The video recorded the voice of police officers speaking to Brooks raise your hand.

“Oh, oh, oh,” Brooks said when the police arrived to arrest him.

After the police arrived, they asked Rider about Brooks.

“Hey, do you know this guy?” a police officer said

“Absolutely not,” said Rider.
