Chicory: A Colorful Tale’s game director teases the development team’s next project with an adorable short animation.
Chicory: A colorful story It’s one of the biggest surprises of 2021. It’s one of those indie games released last year, stood out from the crowd, winning any of the Game of the Year awards across multiple categories. Looks like the development team behind Kale Love making games as much as players enjoy playing it. Game director Greg Lobanov has confirmed that a new game is in development from KaleTeam’s, gave the first trailer of the game.
Lobanov’s teaser is small, but sweet. What is it exactly? Kale fans will appreciate. In a short post on Twitter, Lobanov confirmed that he is working with Kale group about something new and with it share an animation. The image has a character running continuously. It was a two-legged creature with a cute nose, big round eyes, large fox-like ears, a furry body, and a short, short tail. It was a cat-kangaroo, a fox-flamingo, or some kind of Frankensteined creature formed from fragments of other animals. One thing is clear – it’s very cute.
Lobanov did not provide any other information about their cuddly runner. It could be the main character of Kale the group’s new game, perhaps hinting at a 2D Platform of some kind, or it could be a side character, NPC, or even an enemy. In that respect, it’s a very nice trailer, because it doesn’t really offer any insight into what the new game will actually be like.
However, the undeniable thing about the creature is that it has all the charm Kale players expect from the game’s development team. While there is a darker element to Kale, most of the characters in the game have a friendly and approachable personality to them. It makes it easy Kale player to interest the characters related to the game’s story. This new creature has created fans who can’t wait to get to know this furry friend better.
Kale not Lobanov’s only game. He has worked on many small projects in the past, two of which are notable and most recently music platformer. Wandersong and procedurally generated roguelike deck builder Coin Crypt. Suffice it to say that Lobanov has a wide variety of experience across game genres.
With Kale team, however, LobanovHis work has become something truly special. Kale of outstanding quality and purpose in 2021. Hopefully, this new project from Kale team just better. Lobanov said that he hopes to share details about the new game in 2022, so fans can look forward to that next year.
