Joey Bosa has been removed from ChargerList of ‘COVID-19 in time to play in Los Angeles’ home game on Sunday night with Steelsmith, NS team announced on Saturday. The veteran defensive player was added to the team’s COVID-19 roster on Tuesday.
A three-time Bowler, Bosa has scored 5.5 sacks and three forced runs in nine games this season. Bosa has collected 53 career sacks since breaking in NFL in 2016. Despite Bosa’s presence, the Chargers’ defense is currently last in the NFL compared to run time and is only 31st in the league in third or lower performance. The unit is allowing an average of just 206 passes per game, which is the fourth-lowest total in the NFL over 10 weeks.
Both the Chargers and Steelers received positive news on Saturday. The day begins with the news that the Steelers midfielder Ben Roethlisberger has been removed from the team’s COVID-19 roster and is scheduled to begin Sunday night. Roethlisberger was out of action during Pittsburgh’s game against Detroit last Sunday.
Sunday night’s match features two teams that are having a lot to do with the AFC playoff picture. The Steelers will be the AFC’s sixth seed if the playoffs begin today, while the Los Angels (5-4) will be the seventh and final seed of the playoffs.
