The 2022 Champions League final sees two of the competition’s most successful teams face off once again as Real Madrid take on Liverpool.

The trophy cabinets at Anfield and the Santiago Bernabéu are not only historic, but also overflowing with cutlery this season as the Reds have already won the EFL Cup and FA Cup, while Los Blancos have been crowned La Liga champions.

Not only will both of them be trying to claim another trophy, but there is still a significant amount of prize money to be earned.

Here’s everything you need to know about the 2022 Champions League final prize money split between Real Madrid and Liverpool.

The 2022 Champions League final winner takes home £17.97m for the trophy, while the runners-up take home £13.93m.

That purse is slightly reduced from previous seasons as 2021 winners Chelsea earn £18.35m for lifting the trophy and runners-up Manchester City earn £14.49m.

As well as receiving the extra trophy money, the winner qualifies for the 2022 UEFA Super Cup final, to be played at Helsinki’s Olympic Stadium in August, with Liverpool or Real Madrid playing UEFA Europa League winners Eintracht Frankfurt , line up.

Teams that qualify for the group stage of the UEFA Champions League will automatically receive a prize of £14.05m, which will be added to each round they advance to.

Additional prize money will also be distributed in group stage matches based on wins and draws.

Liverpool and Real Madrid have picked up the most money of any team participating in this season’s Champions League, even before counting the last money.

In third and fourth place are semi-finalists Manchester City and Villareal, followed by Bayern Munich, Chelsea, Benfica and Atletico Madrid.

Manchester United finished 11th in the prize money table, along with French sides LOSC Lille and Paris St Germain, who all earned £31.86m for their performances throughout the competition this season.
