Chainsaw wielding man arrested in Summerland: RCMP

A man wielding a chainsaw inside a fuel station in Summerland, B.C., was arrested after an hour-long standoff with police.

The unusual incident started round 6:30 p.m. on Friday in the 6000-block of Freeway 97.

Police responded to reviews of a man in a liquor retailer with a working chainsaw.

By the time officers arrived, the suspect had walked into a fuel station.

Police cleared the enterprise, and officers surrounded the space.

A negotiator was known as in, however RCMP mentioned the scenario was resolved when the chainsaw ran out of fuel.

No one was injured, however police mentioned there was some harm to the companies.
