North Carolina Congressman Madison Cawthorn tore down Dr. Anthony Fauci in a Newsmax segment on Tuesday. Cawthorn was reacting to Dr Fauci’s fiery exchange with Senator Rand Paul about the ‘gain to function’ research that took place in the Senate earlier in the day.
The freshman congressman did not refrain from calling the NIAID Director a “petty thief” and accusing him of “not in the best interests of the American people.”
“Heather, I apologize for my scowl,” Cawthorn said. “But it really pissed me off when I heard him say he didn’t want to retract his statement. Because he lied to the American people. He lied to Congress, which is a crime.”
“I generally have great respect for the people who work here on Capitol Hill, knowing that while we have different ideas on how to get it done, we are all working to work for the greater good of the nation. the American people,” Cawthorn said. “But I’ll tell you now, that’s not the case with Anthony Fauci.”
“He was a punk trying to develop his career and make himself rich and famous,” he continued. “But let me tell you, he’s neither rich nor famous, because he’s destroyed countless small businesses, he’s taken years of growth from kids who are missing out. the best part of their whole life.”
“He shackled entire states and destroyed their economies,” he continued. “All for what? Want to see his face on the news? “
Cawthorn added: “He should be charged with lying to Parliament. “I thank Rand Paul for bringing it up. And I’ll tell you right now, Anthony Fauci doesn’t have the best interests of the American People in his heart. I believe he is a pawn for the Chinese government by giving them funding to fund the military to try to figure out how they can make an animal virus transmissible to humans.”
“No is disgusting. It’s wrong. And 4 million people are now dying around the world because of it,” Cawthorn added.
Earlier in the day, Senator Rand Paul criticized Dr Fauci for presenting evidence that his agency had funded ‘gain to function’ research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology.
“NS. Fauci, as you know, lying to Congress is a crime,” said Senator Paul. “Section 1001 of the United States Penal Code creates a felony and a 5-year penalty for lying. before Congress.”
“During your last visit to our committee on May 11, you said that the NIH has never and does not currently fund functional research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology,” Paul said. continue. “And yet, the functional research was done entirely at the Wuhan Institute by Dr. Shi and funded by the NIH.”
“I would like to request unanimous consent, to file that Wuhan virology paper titled ‘Exploring the rich genetic resources of bat SARS-associated coronaviruses’,” he continued. “Please forward a copy of the article to Dr. Fauci. In this article, Dr. Shi credits the NIH and lists the actual amount of the grant she has been granted by the NIH. In this article, Ms. took two bat coronavirus genes, mutant genes, and combined them with the SARS-related backbone to create a new virus not found in nature. regenerative in humans.”
Paul added: “These experiments have combined genetic information from different coronaviruses that infect animals, but not humans, to create new man-made viruses that can infect other coronaviruses. human cells. “Natural viruses that only infect animals have been manipulated in the Wuhan laboratory to have the function of infecting humans. This study fits the definition of a study that the NIH said was paused in 2014-2017, halting funding when functional was achieved. “
“But the NIH didn’t realize this defined it and it was never thoroughly monitored,” he continued. “Dr. Richard Ebright, a molecular biologist from Rutgers described this study in Wuhan as ‘Wuhan lab used NIH funding to create new SARS coronaviruses, related to SARS. can infect human cells and laboratory animals. This is research with a high risk of creating new potential pandemic pathogens, potential pandemic pathogens that exist only in the laboratory, not in nature. This study fits – these are the words of Dr. Ebright – it really fits the microcosm of functional research done entirely in Wuhan, where there should have been a pause in federal. Dr. Fauci, knowing that lying to Congress is a crime, would you like to retract your statement on May 11 when you stated that the NIH has never funded the achievement of functional studies in Wuhan? ” he asks.
“Senator Paul, I have never lied to Congress and I am not withdrawing that statement,” Fauci declared.
Congressional records and evidence of NIAID funding the Wuhan lab through a ‘charity’ show the opposite.
