“We are grateful to the KOA in Rodanthe for their efforts to organize these beach cleanup volunteer events and help manage the beaches on the first national coast of the United States,” said Northeast National Parks Director Carolina David Hallac said.

Volunteers can pick up supplies between 10 a.m. and noon at 25099 NC Highway 12 in Rodanthe.

Those interested in beach cleanups outside of designated beach cleanup hours are encouraged to place trash and debris bags above the high tide to prevent items from being washed back into the ocean.

Children under the age of 18 who wish to participate in volunteer activities must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
