Canadian speed skater Kim Boutin won bronze in the women’s 500M at the Beijing Olympics

Canadian speed skater Kim Boutin won a bronze medal in the women’s 500 meter speed skating event at Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics.

Boutin, the world record holder for the fastest time to log in in the event, also won bronze in the 500 meters during the 2018 Olympics in PyeongChang.

This victory is Boutin’s fourth Olympic medal. She won three medals at the 2018 Olympics – one silver and two bronze.

Italy’s Arianna Fontana repeats as the gold medalist in this event with a time of 42.49. Suzanne Schults of the Netherlands won silver.

Boutin’s bronze medal is Canada’s fifth time participating in the Beijing Olympics to date.
