Canada bars military from investigating and prosecuting sexual misconduct cases

The Canadian Forces Nationwide Investigation Service, the investigative arm of the army police, investigated sexual misconduct allegations towards Gen. Jonathan Vance, Canada’s former chief of the protection employees, the equal of the chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Employees, who retired in January. Navy police charged him in July with obstruction of justice.
