As you traverse the Hisui region and add pages to the Pokédex you’ve been tasked with creating, you’ll likely begin to notice Pokémon that are larger and act more aggressive than some other Pokémon of their kind. wander at a selected point. To raise your Star rank, simply start your journey and complete other pages in your Pokédex.
As for the actual capture, you can do it in one of two ways: simply by fighting Pokémon Alpha and trying to catch it the classic way, or by luring it and sneaking behind to catch it without any problems. No need to join the fight.
If you’re fighting the Alpha Pokémon you’re trying to catch, just be aware that the catch rate will be much lower than other Pokémon of its species, making it harder for you to catch. So sneaking around on it might be the better option.
When you spot Pokémon Alpha in the wild, you can throw food as bait nearby to distract it from your location as long as it hasn’t shown aggression towards you. This will give you your chance to catch a Poké Ball and gauge your chances of catching it.
If there’s a red X above the Poké Ball’s slot, you won’t be able to capture Alpha and will have to return with a higher Star Rating. But if the icon glows yellow or green, you are free to try it out.
Using a Pokémon’s favorite food, which can be learned through observation, and capturing Pokémon within that species to add data to the Pokédex, will greatly increase your chances of catching an Alpha if used as bait. The type of Poké Ball you use will also come into play, but you can decide how to handle it on a per-Pokémon basis.
