Despite being an exclusive version, Pokemon fans wonder if they can catch Palkia in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond or put Dialga in Shining pearls. Of course, this is not possible in the original games. However, since these are remakes, one can assume they were able to obtain both dictionaries. We will check if we can catch Dialga in Shining Pearl or Palkia in Brilliant Diamond below.

Can I catch Dialga in Shining Pearl or Palkia in Brilliant Diamond?

Pokemon Brilliant Diamond Shining Pearl Palkia Dialga

Unfortunately, these dictionaries are still available dedicated to their respective games. In Pokemon Brilliant Diamond, there is no way to catch Palkia. In return, the player cannot capture Dialga in Pokemon Shining Pearl. At least this was the case at launch.

Maybe the developers can more DLC for games that allow the player to catch both spells in both games. In addition, we may see an event that adds the last name as a mysterious gift. This has happened relatively frequently over the past few generations. We wouldn’t be surprised to see a shiny or unique version of Dialga and Palkia appear in the near future.

Luckily, there’s still a way for legendary players who can’t get into their version of the game to be marked as seen, which is a requirement to get the National Dex. Do like that:

  • Become the Sinnoh Champion by defeating the Elite Four.
  • Find Cynthia’s grandmother in Celistic Town.
  • Talk to Cynthia’s grandmother and she will show the player an image of the game’s Legendary Pokemon opposite.

Luckily, this is all the player has to do to get the number of Pokemon seen.

Unlike Dialga and Palkia, Legendary Pokemon from other games are relatively easy to find and catch in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. After players unlock the National Dex, they can visit Ramanas Park, which has a way to unlock encounters with all of the iconic Pokemon.
