Bruins coach Bruce Cassidy placed in NHL .’s COVID-19 protocol

NS Boston Bruins announced Tuesday that head coach Bruce Cassidy has been brought in NHLCOVID-19’s protocol. No further details were provided in the announcement. Cassidy, who are reported to have been vaccinated, is the first Bruins player or coach to be included on the league’s COVID roster so far this season.

The 56-year-old will be absent for some time with the team, but there is no word on exactly how long the team will be left without a head coach on the bench. He will miss at least Tuesday night’s home game against Red Wings. In his absence, the team will have to rely on assistant coaches Joe Sacco, Kevin Dean and Chris Kelly.

Bruins will soon come to Nashville to play Carnivores on Thursday and then held Lightning on Saturday.

The current group has no front Brad Marchand for three games after the league suspended him for abusing Canucks guard Oliver Ekman-Larsson in Sunday game.

Boston is currently 11-7-0 in Cassidy’s fifth full season as their head coach. He is 205-89-41 as the team’s head coach and has a 33-33 record in season after season.
